Hello! My name is Mrs. Jessica Rios, and I am thrilled to be your child’s 3rd grade teacher.
My teaching philosophy centers around creating a warm, structured, and engaging classroom where every child feels valued, safe, and inspired to learn. I believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while encouraging independence and a lifelong love for learning.
In 3rd grade, students begin to transition from learning to read to reading to learn, and from concrete to more abstract thinking. I strive to provide hands-on, interactive lessons that make learning fun and meaningful. My classroom promotes collaboration, critical thinking, and respect for all learners.
I partner closely with families to ensure each student is supported and challenged at the right level. Together, we can make this a year of exciting discoveries and strong foundations for future success.
I am excited to be part of the teaching staff at Desert Sage for this school year. I have taught third grade for a few years now and I am so excited to continue on another year. I have also taught fourth grade before moving down to third grade. I got my Bachelors degree from Grand Canyon University in Elementary Education.
My husband and I have been married since 2020!! We have three kids Miles , Gwyn , and Rosalie . We also share our home with our lazy cat Luna! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and browsing local bookstores.
My goal is to create a supportive and engaging classroom where 3rd graders grow academically, socially, and emotionally, building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. I am a strong believer in parent-teacher communication and I believe that being on the same page and having open communication will better the students and myself. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great year!
