I am excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Dianne Chong, and I recently moved to Arizona to be closer to family. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alaska Anchorage. This year marks my 12th year of teaching- after spending 9 years in Alaska, I am grateful to continue my journey in Arizona.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking, camping, and staying active. One of my favorite activities is practicing jiu jitsu with my son, who will be entering 3rd grade this year. We also enjoy spending time together with our dog, Maka.
I am honored to be part of the Desert Sage community and to have the opportunity to teach your child. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that all children can become lifelong learners who explore, communicate, create, and interact with the world around them. My goal is to create a learning environment that encourages students to do their best, try new things, embrace who they are, and work collaboratively with their peers while always respecting themselves, others, and their safety.
I believe that strong collaboration between home and school is essential to student success. I will send periodic newsletters to keep you informed about assignments, projects, and classroom updates throughout the year.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year with you and your child
