5th grade: English Language Arts & Social Studies

Welcome to Mrs. Vincent's class!  Fifth grade is an exciting year of growth, independence, and discovery. In English Language Arts and Social Studies, students become explorers of the past and creators of ideas as they read, write, and discuss to make meaningful connections between history, literature, and their own lives. Building a strong classroom community is essential—one where students trust one another, feel safe to take risks, and understand that mistakes help us grow. I encourage students to advocate for themselves, think critically, and take responsibility for their learning. Together, we build independence, empathy, and confidence while having fun and supporting one another every step of the way.
