Reading Specialist
Welcome to reading intervention, where we work hard to build grade-level reading proficiency in partnership with classroom teachers while developing a love of reading!
During reading intervention with Mrs. Block, I work with small groups of students in kindergarten through 3rd grades during RTI and Tier III intervention times. Your child will never miss any classroom instruction to come to my class! We meet only during small group time blocks. Depending on the grade level, we work on letter names, phonics, sight words, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. I work closely with grade-level teams to monitor student progress and adjust student groups, so your child may move in and out of my classroom throughout the year, depending on his or her skill progression. I am a passionate, lifelong reader, and I work hard to build a love of reading in my students. All students should read at home for 20 minutes daily to develop reading proficiency and build a love of reading.
